GOD SPEAKS
GOD'S VOICE IN ABRAHAM'S JOURNEY
When I think of a good leader, I think of the following qualities ,resilience, that is fearless in the face of adversity. Boldness that is beyond human comprehension.
God ordained wisdom. Submission to the truth which is the word of God. Look at his social isolation in the midst of childlessness at an advanced age ,he was uprooted from his familiar territory to an unknown and uncertain future despite the promises of God that he could not see in his human capacity.
Abraham held on to the promises of God ,he did by faith and trust in God he had not known before .
He had to establish a home not only for himself but for descendants that followed after him for generations to come .His leadership was a sign of the covenant between God and his people .Abraham was renowned for his hospitality, welcoming strangers with kindness and generosity. This act of compassion reflects his deep understanding of the human condition. He was also a peace maker: Abraham actively sought peaceful resolutions to conflicts, demonstrating a commitment to justice and harmony.
Abraham is more than just a historical figure. He stands as a testament to unwavering faith, remarkable courage, and profound moral character. His story, as told in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran, continues to inspire and challenge people of all faiths.
Genesis
15:5-6
“He
took him outside and said ,look up at the sky and count the stars-
if indeed you can count them ,then he said to him ,so shall your offspring be”.
Genesis 17:4-6
"As for me ,this is my covenant with you :you will be the father of many nations ,no longer will you be called Abram. Your name will be Abraham".
Can we walk in such humility and obedience? It can be challenging but through faith and obedience God is more than able to give us what he promised us.
Well said, Abraham was a leader that demonstrated exemplary qualities. He was a man of great faith, courage and made great sacrifices for him and his family. He showed compassion and pleaded with God to save the people of Sidom but he was firm and bold in defending what is his & his family, the battle to recover his nephew Lot in Gen 14 proved his dominion, steward and governing ability. He was also successful rancher and innovative in creating channels of water in desert & digging wells to solve the water issues and bring habitation. Lets not forget with vast land, wealth and population of workforce he was an extremely good manager of resources and a great steward for God.
