KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP
KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP
Living in a Culture (Trusted Ambassadors) driven
by ownership, personal gain and Independence, Kingdom stewardship is a call higher.
It's a remembering that all we have - our time, our talents, our
resources, our Influence - belongs to God. We are not owners but
trusted stewards called to manage what truly belongs to
him.
"The world and all that is in it belong to the Lord."
- Psalms 24: 1.
This reality reshapes our worldview. Stewardship is not about
money. It's about surrender. Experiencing life with an understanding that captures every part of
our lives and aligns it with Gods purpose.
A PERSONAL REVELATION.
My Christian
leadership training experience has enriched my understanding of stewardship
more than anything else. I started off with a narrow meaning, believing that
stewardship was merely about helping with money in the form of tithing or
offering my time. But through diligent study, genuine service, and reflective
meditation, my perspective has broadened much farther. Now, I see stewardship
as an overall lifestyle characterized by purpose, obedience, and
responsibility.
FAITHFULNESS IN THE SMALL.
In the
parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus teaches that
God gives each one of us resources according to our own abilities. It is our
subsequent use of these resources that determines our fruitfulness and
faithfulness. The reward for faithful stewardship is greater responsibility and
the joy of our Master. Therefore, stewardship is not measured by how much we
have in quantity, but by the efficiency of utilizing what has been entrusted to
us. This is a principle applied to most areas of our lives: time is precious
when spent on prayer, service, and living with purpose; our gifts and talents
are instruments for impact when offered back to God; and our finances become a
channel of blessing when distributed to advance God's kingdom.
STEWARDSHIP IN LEADERSHIP.
As I enter
into ministry, stewardship is becoming the principle of my leadership. My call
is not one of building my own platform, but of building God's kingdom. I've
come to understand that leadership divorced from stewardship leads to burnout
or pride. But leadership based on stewardship produces multiplication,
humility, and eternal impact. Kingdom leaders, therefore, are consistent in
private as well as in public, responsible to God above all others, and giving
freely of their power, ever lifting others up as they climb. This is an
invitation to live a life of surrender. Stewardship, at its core, is an act of
worship, not of control, but daily surrender and saying, "Lord, how am I
using what you've placed in my hands today for your glory?" As I navigate
this path of leadership, I want to challenge you to do the same. What has God
placed in your hands, and how are you stewarding it? Let us strive to live for
heaven's "well done," Matthew 25:23 "Well done,
good and faithful servant." We do not own, but we are ambassadors with
time, talents, and resources given to us to demonstrate heaven's values to the
world. Will you live as a faithful steward today?
You are absolutely right; in today's world we must powerfully redefines stewardship from a mere financial act to a lifestyle of surrendered leadership. It's therefore key to add emphasis on relational, cultural, and truth-based stewardship, along with practical systems of accountability, would enrich it even further. This reflection is not only instructional but prophetic and pastoral; challenging emerging leaders to embody heaven’s values in every area of life
ReplyDeleteAs Stewardship of Relationships, we are responsible for the people God entrusts to us: our family, team members at work, congregants in our churches. This includes how we lead, disciple, and care for them. The bible tells us in Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Stewardship today extends to Cultural Engagement in today’s world includes responsibly using influence in digital spaces, social justice, and environmental care. The Scripture say in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before others…”
Stewardship is also about of Truth-as leaders, we must handle God's Word with integrity and not manipulate Scripture for personal gain or applause, the bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Rightly dividing the word of truth.”
And finally, Stewardship is about have accountability Systems in place, practical stewardship also includes structures that protect leaders and resources, such financial accountability, mentorship, team oversight etc.
